SYNOPSIS
A contemporary rereading of the tradition of pilgrimages in the Azores, historically carried out exclusively by men. In the film, a group of women go on a pilgrimage around Pico Island; along the way, one of them disappears, raising questions about their individual and collective existence as female bodies. Between effusive eruptions that turn into volcanic rocks, "Seven Days With The Sea On My Left Hand" breaks with the traditions of Lenten pilgrimages, following a group of women on a dizzying search for a lost and invisible figure. Theirs are bodies that walk, literally, to break the dome of passivity, guided by action, ritual, and resistance.
