Salomé Lamas



(Lisbon, Portugal) is an award-winning Portuguese filmmaker, known for documentaries such as Terra de Ninguém (2012), Eldorado XXI (2016), Extinção (2018) and Coup de Grâce (2017). Her short films include A Comunidade (2012), Theatrum Orbis Terrarum (2013), A Torre (2015) and Ubi Sunt (2016), among others. She trained in filmmaking at the Escola Superior de Teatro e Cinema in Lisbon and at FAMU in Prague, and also studied Visual Arts in Amsterdam. Her work explores the boundaries between fiction and documentary and has been presented at international festivals and art institutions such as the Berlinale, MoMA and Tate Modern, among many others. Lamas has received numerous grants and awards, including from the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, Sundance and DAAD Berlin.
