Bárbara Anastácio



Bárbara Anastácio is a self-taught filmmaker based in New York, whose work builds a bridge between anthropological observation and cinematic narrative. With a background in Anthropology and Photography from Goldsmiths College, London, she works across fiction, documentary, music videos, and branded content. She has directed projects for Vogue, The New York Times, Nike, Prada, and YSL, and created the episodic series My Place for NOWNESS as well as the interview series The One for WSJ. Her fiction work has also been screened at the Philadelphia Museum of Art and the Walker Art Center. Her most recent project, Mother Nature, won the Distribution Award at the European Short Pitch 2025 and is currently in development.
